  • Performed thorough revenue cycle assessment at an academic medical center comprised of 600 providers. Identified and prioritized areas for improvement, which increased overall cash collections while reducing the cost of billing operations.
  • Provided a Director of the Central Billing Office for an academic faculty practice plan. Highlights included: Maintained DSO at 40 days, negotiated large A/R settlements with multiple payers, managed implementation of Ingenix claims scrubber and electronic remittances.
  • Provided a CPC with considerable revenue cycle experience to serve as the Interim Director of Coding and Charge Capture at a 300-physician multispecialty group practice. Managed 48 FTEs responsible for coding, charge capture and provider education. Redesigned automated work queues to streamline operations. Utilized denial reports to implement front-end changes to prevent most common errors.
  • Developed standardized patient access and revenue cycle workflows for a 200-physician group to support the organization's move from a decentralized structure to a central billing office supporting 70+ multispecialty practices.
  • Provided a Project Manager to a medical group converting a new practice management system as part of its strategy to implement a core vendor for EHR and practice management.
  • Implemented revenue cycle performance metrics, including staff productivity. Benchmarked performance against industry best practices. Recommended areas for improvement, including a detailed action plan.
  • Implemented advanced practice management system functionality to streamline workflows and reduce manual workarounds. Functionality included claims scrubbers, EDI for insurance eligibility, pre-authorization, claims and remits, automated workfile tools, and payer contract variance applications.
